Neuruppin

A script pitch presentation pack aimed at major TV networks created for the prolific Berlin & Munich production company Ratpack.

The story revolves around a dentist who joins a motorcycle gang in the East German city of Neuruppin. To reflect these key plot drivers I created a set of props that were housed in a motorcyclist’s map case, along with the suggestive items of a fighting knife and pair of pliers.

The key prop was a sew-on patch of the type worn by motorcycle clubs internationally. The piece featured the gang name along with legends popular in the culture such as ‘1%’ and ‘MC’, all rendered in the correct visual vernacular.

Support material was a series of postcards for the town of Neuruppin. These were intended to be ironic: rather than pleasant scenes they showed a number of gritty elements but represented in the style of authentic holiday postcards.

The materials were housed in a motorcyclist’s map case, along with the suggestive items of a fighting knife and pair of pliers.
