Made objects using hazard tape
The project started with documentary photographs of overzealous applications of hazard tape that I found in the environment. I found it interesting how people evidently felt unrestrained applying the tape, my theory being that because it essentially exists to keep us safe people feel empowered to use it with gay abandon. I set up an Instagram feed to share my findings which you can find below.
Eventually, I wanted to join in on the fun, so I began making my own objects and depositing them in unpremeditated locations as environmental interventions.
Ultimately the objects exist only on the Instagram feed but I made them physical again with a limited-edition postcard pack showing both the object and final resting place.
